StatSensor® creatinine point-of-care meter
The only point-of-care handheld for determining creatinine and eGFR from whole blood.
The advanced technology of the StatSensor® enables a simple, fast and accurate assessment of the renal function from a capillary blood sample of only 1.2µl, which can be easily removed with a finger prick. Results are displayed in 30 seconds including the glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) according to MDRD or CKD-EPI. The devices of the StatSensor® and StatStrip® family were specially designed for use at the point-of-care and enable fast and reliable diagnoses.
Applications:
- radiology
- oncology
- Intensive care unit
- emergency department
- Results in 30 seconds
- Calculates the eGFR
- Rapid screening of kidney function
- Extensive connection options
- Docking station (for connectivity models)
- For professional use only

Technology
Easy and quick screening of kidney function
Because speed is important at the point of care, handling is extremely simple:
- Insert test strips into the device
- Apply blood drops to test strips
- The result will be displayed within 30 seconds
Optionally with or without data connection (Learn more about the advantages of connectivity in the next section.).
Most advanced strip technology
When measuring from whole blood samples, interference can occur due to varying hemocrit values. The patented Multi-Well ™ technology from Nova Biomedical measures the hematocrit in one of the three measuring chambers of the test strip and corrects the result accordingly. This allows reliable measurement results to be determined over a wide hematocrit range.
No Calibration codes
StatStrip® test strips do not require any codes and are consistently precise, even when using different lots. The shelf life is two years, even opened packages are stable for 6 months.
Conventionally manufactured glucose test strips require the use of calibration codes as the sensitivity can vary greatly between individual lots. An incorrectly entered calibration code can affect the displayed glucose value by up to 43%.

Connectivity
Data connection of the StatSensor® monitoring systems in a LIS / HIS.
Using NovaNet ™, the device manager software for all clinical products from Nova Biomedical®, the StatSensor® can be connected to a network using TCP / IP and POCT1-A2. In this user-friendly point-of-care system, all users can be easily managed, all QC and patient data are recorded and reports can also be created.
Nova Biomedical® offers an extensive e-learning program for the re-certification of device users.
With the integrated scanner, operator and patient IDs can be read in using 1D / 2D barcodes or entered using the alphanumeric screen keyboard. Measurement results that are outside the normal range are clearly highlighted by color coding. Several features such as patient ID, name, date of birth, etc. are shown on the display for reliable patient identification.
Advantages of the data connection:
- Simplified data management
- Time savings through more efficient worklfow
- Data available in real time in LIS and HIS
- Quality assurance through networked user and patient management
